Longplay is now on Mac — beautifully reimagined for the desktop while staying true to its core mission: letting you enjoy your music one full album at a time.
Browse your collection like you would your wall of CDs or vinyls. Longplay filters out singles and scattered tracks to give you a visual grid of just the albums you truly own. Rediscover forgotten favourites using unique sort orders like Negligence, Addiction, or Brightness. Everything syncs seamlessly with your iOS devices via iCloud.
Built from the ground up for macOS, this version features a polished mix of SwiftUI and AppKit with native support for macOS standards:
- MCP integration — Let Claude or other AI tools be your DJ and explore your albums
- AppleScript support — Integrate with your setup using Alfred, Keyboard Maestro, or your own scripts
- Smart Collections — Create smart collections via Shortcuts or using Claude/MCP, with powerful filters like album name, artist, genre, year, and more. These collections are saved in-app and update automatically as your library changes
- Full sync with iOS — All your ratings, collections, and queue flow smoothly between devices
- Smart sort orders — Explore albums by when you last listened, how much you love them, or even how bright their cover is
- Powerful queueing — Play next, play later, drag to reorder — you’re in control
- Infinite Album Shuffle — Non-stop listening, one full album at a time
- In-app star ratings — Rate songs right inside Longplay and skip low-rated ones automatically
- Collections — Curate your own themed groupings of albums and shuffle within them
- Scrobbling — Submit your listens to Last.fm or ListenBrainz
Whether you’re working at your desk or relaxing at home, Longplay brings back the joy of full albums.
