Don’t go chasing waterfalls—just make your own in the serene puzzle game Roia. Guide a stream of water down a towering mountain, using taps and swipes to create gullies and cascading falls. Channel the water through a busy town at the foot of the mountain until it reaches the sea—then sit back and soak up the accomplishment.
What we love: Making the earth move. Whether you’re diverting the flow around campsites or flooding fields to make flowers bloom, it’s a blast reshaping a massive mountain at will. Can you guide the water around a busy highway without washing away any hapless motorists?
Quick tip: Watch your bird companion for clues on where to guide the flow of water. If your feathered friend is flying downward, you’re all good. Once it lands, send the stream past the bird’s perch until it chirps and takes off again.
Meet the creator: Austria’s Anna Mitterer and Tobias Sturn are a couple who design games together; Roia was inspired by their kids’ love of building canals in a sandbox and filling them with water. As a child, Sturn played with wooden waterwheels handcrafted by his grandfather, who passed away during Roia’s development. The game is dedicated to his memory.
