Drive or walk? In Apple Arcade’s What the Car, do both – simultaneously!
Cruise through ridiculous bite-size levels as a car with legs (really!) in developer Triband’s follow-up to the hilarious What the Golf. At first your leggy car wobbles through obstacle courses, but soon you’ll be balancing on balls, skipping rope and flying with a jetpack. Wait, are these really races?
Technically yes!

You’ve got two goals in each wacky level: find the hidden card and cross the finish line quick enough to score a sweet gold crown (and a spot on the leaderboards). Getting there is easier said than done, however, as each new challenge calls for a totally fresh approach. Here are some of our favourite ways What the Car reimagines the racetrack.
“Car Is Frog”
Find it in: Episode 1: Jumping
Time to Beat for Gold: 10.022
It’s a race to... eat flies? Flick the car’s long tongue to slurp up bugs – and eventually the finish line itself. Just be careful with the last fly carrying the checkered flag – it zigzags erratically!
“Advanced Tabletop Soccer”
Find it in: Episode 2: Sports
Time to Beat for Gold: 2:13.604
You don’t control the car in this wacky take on foosball – you control the car-people stuck on rods! The most challenging part? The bears who happily kick the car-ball back towards you to slow down your run.
“They See Me Rolling”
Find it in: Episode 3: Working
Time to Beat for Gold: 31.187
Barrel through glass windows and propel off sweet jumps in this fast and furious obstacle course. Careful of all the bears along each platform busy at their desk jobs. Bumping into them slows your momentum.

Looking for something even weirder? Make your own mission with the built-in level editor!
Enter the Customisation domain from the main cave, choose your mode of transportation – maybe a car with keyboards for wheels? – and start sculpting terrain. Don’t forget to toss in a few spring pads, boosters and ramps!
