Age ratings help you make informed decisions about how appropriate an app may be for you or your family. These age ratings work with parental control features like Screen Time and Ask to Buy.

To publish an app on the App Store, developers must disclose the type and frequency of any sensitive content it contains, as well as any features that might introduce such content, such as unrestricted web access or advertising. Apple generates the age rating for the app based on this information.

L/AL:
The app contains no objectionable content.

6/A6:

The app may contain instances of content not suitable for users under 6, including instances of user-generated content, infrequent cartoon or fantasy violence and contests.

10/A10:
The app may contain instances of content not suitable for users under 10, including instances of health or wellness topics, guns or other weapons, profanity or crude humour, or mature, suggestive or horror-or fear-themed content.

12/A12:
The app may contain instances of content not suitable for users under 12, including advertising, messaging and chat, or infrequent medical or treatment-focused content, sexual content or nudity, realistic violence or simulated gambling; or frequent contests, guns or other weapons, profanity or crude humour, horror or fear-themed content or cartoon or fantasy violence.

14/A14:
The app may contain instances of frequent horror/fear and/or infrequent alcohol, tobacco, drugs.

16/A16:
The app may contain instances of content not suitable for users under 16, including through unrestricted web access, frequent mature or suggestive content or medical or treatment-focused content.

18/A18:
The app may contain instances of content not suitable for users under 18, including through instances of gambling and/or lootboxes, frequent simulated gambling, references to alcohol, tobacco, or drug use, sexual content or nudity or realistic violence.

Official & Self-Rated Age Pictograms

Official age pictograms are displayed for apps that have a Brazil-specific age rating issued by the Brazilian Ministry of Justice. Such officially rated apps will show official content and interactivity descriptors, and it may contain other content or features not listed. Self-Rated Age Pictograms are displayed for all other apps.

Developer-Assigned Age Rating

In some cases an app may be designed for a specific age or have a policy that requires a minimum age for all users. To reflect this, developers can assign their app a global age rating that is higher than the determined rating.
