HAAK

Explore an ominous world full of shocking secrets.

Dangerous post-apocalyptic badlands stand between you and your missing brother. Good thing you’ve got skills! In the 2D action-adventure HAAK, you’ll beat down mutants with power gauntlets, activate distant machinery (and zap hard-to-reach foes) with an electric hook and dash past lasers – all while exploring a ruined world.

What we love: Uncovering secrets. Tons of mysterious passages, breakable walls and hidden areas await discovery. What happened to the world? Newspaper clippings and artefacts flesh out the game’s fascinating backstory; between solving clever puzzles and battling fierce baddies, be sure to check ’em out.

There’s no telling what lurks in these underground labyrinths. Look alive!

Quick tip: In the Sanho Ruins, resist activating the teleporter pods to zip straight to your objective in the east. A huge network of hidden tunnels and rooms in the middle of the level holds lots of tricky challenges and helpful collectibles. Take the scenic route!

Meet the creator: Also known for the cute restaurant sim I’m Not Yummy, cat-loving indie studio Blingame spent four years making HAAK. The game’s captivating world was inspired by (and shares many features with) Shenzhen, China, the city where the developer is based.
