GAMES WE LOVE

Secret Neighbor

The scariest game of hide-and-seek you’ll ever play.

In this online multiplayer thriller, you’re in a group of six kids exploring the scariest house in the neighbourhood. Your job? To collect keys that unlock the door to its mysterious basement. The catch? One of you is the titular secret neighbour in disguise!

What we love: Ransacking the house to find keys is great fun, as is gathering your suspicions on who’s been assigned the Neighbor role as they set traps, thwart the kids’ plans and try to stay undetected. We love the short match times too – this is asymmetrical multiplayer at its most intense.

Staring down the Neighbor is a recipe for disaster. Better run!

Quick tip: The starting kid’s character type is the Bagger, whose ability is to carry extra items. New character classes can be unlocked as you play, or with a subscription. The best one to go for after the Bagger? The Detective, who gets given the location of two keys without having to search.

Meet the creator: US–based indie label TinyBuild is perhaps best known for its Neighbor games – previous hit Hello Neighbor is an AI-powered, single-player snoop-off against a very creepy neighbour.
