I had heard about the NBA app from a few of my Street friends and thought that it was unnecessary, because I have Kayo sports and I find it a pretty good platform. Given that this app is nothing but NBA though, the depth and breath is unbelievable. I get to see so many more games, quick search so many more stats and the biggest win for me is the amount of formats that you can watch a game in. You can get a 3 1/2 minute quick catch up summary, which would be great during the season especially for teams that you don’t follow all those at the lower part of the ladder. for stronger interest, I really like the format of “every play”. So it cuts a lot of the guff out, though you get to see all of the shots including the ones that miss. I think this gives a greater context of the game and helps join the viewer to the suspense, without it taking your whole evening each game to watch. Even though it’s a bit of a cost, I value my time at an hourly rate and I’ve already saved at 10 times over by having this app

I’ve been a subscriber and user of the NBA App for well over ten years. The previous app wasn’t the prettiest, but it functioned well and did it’s job. The update has real problems on iphone, iPad and Apple TV including: -streams crashing on their own, -not being able to play recaps (it crashes the app on all platforms) - not being able to Airplay from iphone or iPad to Apple TV without keeping them awake (leaving the app screen or if the device goes to sleep stops the stream in the background) -can’t change streams without restarting the app Hopefully the developers are reading the reviews and working on bug fixes so we can have a functioning app before the season ramps up, but at this stage I’d have to give the new app 1 star. If it’s not fixed soon, I’ll be requesting a refund. Edit (10 November): Still having problems with auto lock and crashing if the app. Developers, can you please look into the issue with streaming airplay from iOS and the stream stopping when the phone auto locks? The previous app allowed the streaming to continue in the background when the phone or iPad were locked and this is a basic and essential function!Edit (24 December): 2 months later and none of this has been fixed. Wake up developers! Why can’t we skip forward more than two seconds when watching on Apple TV? It makes trying to watch replays unbearable!

I don’t mind the new update as it makes the app look much better, however the functionality is much worse. This also seems consistent with the nba website. Firstly, logging into my nba account is far too difficult due to the constant freezing. I have to constantly close and reopen the app and webpage just so I can access my account. Secondly, the video player is much worse. I’ve been a league pass member for 3 years, and have always had problems streaming to chromecast. In the past, it would either play with no sound, audio would be delayed by a few seconds, or it just wouldn’t work at all. These days the chromecast option doesn’t even appear to be there. Furthermore, when I minimise the screen while watching via the app, the option to go full screen again does not appear unless I close the stream and reload it which is rather frustrating, especially during a close game! Finally, the stream in general can sometimes be laggy. This could be due to my internet, however I don’t experience any of these problems when streaming via other platforms. In conclusion, it’s a shame that I have to pay $40 a month for a subpar streaming service. If there was any other option for me to watch every nba game on, I would definitely take that up.

Whoever has built this app, maybe needs to go back and listen to people’s comments as don’t even look like they have been addresssd. Has any testing of the app been done on Apple devices, clearly not. Continually get error. Please try again. When it does work like content appearing in following then and you move to a new tab say the emirates cup can’t even load the content it just hangs, then navigate to a different page then that will no longer work. Continually have to uninstall and reinstall the app. Go to the App Store why are there 2 different apps to install yet they are both the same version. Select my picks says they are saved, go to the app to check results and it says you have not selected anyrhing. Sometimes you can’t even stream a full game continually points you back to game replay. When you finally get to full game stream it doesn’t even show you the prematch or post match, sometimes half time ent is not shown or the time outs show an nba blue screen. It’s not rocket science to the get the app working correctly. If features were working before why remove as the user experience is shocking. You should be building user friendly apps then you wouldn’t get so many valid complaints. We spend a lot of money for this app yet there are issues constantly. Not good.
