The app is so good but there are only 2 problems if you are using it for free the first problem is the speed it’s fine I guess it loads Netflix and Disney it wasn’t really much of a problem unless I was far away from my router(where he internet is the best) second problem is the location Ik u can change server but we have to wait a few min before we can do it again and idk why but it keeps connecting to Romania so I had to keep changing my anyway it wasn’t much a deal I only had to wait 2 more minutes so ya i would say this is the best free vpn in the world so ya bye

Connection speeds can be influenced by numerous factors such as your native ISP speed, location, server load, network setup, etc. Moreover, normally, the free servers are simply slower due to the fact that a lot of users are connecting to them. On another note, Proton VPN uses an algorithm to direct users to the server that we predict to be the fastest for the user. As part of the ongoing improvements to our infrastructure, we've modified this algorithm to primarily take into account the free bandwidth available on the server. We also reduced the importance of the country, as it's only very seldomly relevant. We believe that this will lead to improvements in the quality of service provided to the user. Additionally, this will improve the efficiency of the Proton VPN infrastructure, as it improves how users are distributed between servers.
App not working after purchase

It’s very unfortunate that in 2025 we still have apps like proton here where they will take the money and not give you a product that actually works, and they wouldn’t refund you and mask it under “Apple rejected your refund” as if Apple is the one who’s deciding their refunds. Stay away from this, there are better options.Edit: you’ve asked me to share my details, I’ve already been touch with your customer care team, person named Andrew, and it seems like your team has a very strong script to stick to which is despite the app not working for the sum of us here, you’re playing deliberately on blaming the rejection of refund on Apple, despite Apple already clearly mentioned to me that the approval/ rejections of refunds are done by your team once Apple sends the request to you. It’s a neat set up you have just so you won’t pay back the customers who are wrongfully robbed by your app and its lack of service with our ISP. Either fix it or send the money back to the people, the money isn’t with Apple it’s with you!

App doesn’t work

It gets stuck once you open the app, keeps on loading.I’ve tried reinstalling a few times but it didn’t work. I saw another review with the same issue, i guess there is a bug or somethingUpdate: I’ve solved the issue by using another VPN to open the app, and it worked fine ever since without the need to use another VPN.When Proton VPN works, it’s the best app in it’s category.
Worst VPN on the market - Scam

I subscribed to the yearly plan paying 399 AED - doesn’t even connect to a network in UAE. The customer service told me to connect to Secure Core, which makes things worse, and you get 1990s internet dial up speeds. Their excuse is that UAE is applying restrictions, fine - then cut your services in UAE. Why scam us into paying money for something that doesn’t work. And all your customer care solutions provided don’t work. I’ve connected to every single country and changed from secure core on/off. It’s still “Connecting”. Terrible app and service. I’ve been trying to get a refund for weeks now. Proton VPN say it’s not their responsibility. And Apple Store reject the claim. Ridiculous! Should’ve never switched from ExpressVPN
